Xp going back from vista?

i have vista home basic which is like an theme for xp but suck. i read a website that you can dual-boot xp and vista for those who dont know what this means when you start up your computer you can choose vista or xp and the drivers such as video driver wont transfer of share with my vista and off this dual-boot you can downgrade because dual-boot you go through a process which splits your hard disk in half and when you get everything over from vista you format it then go to hard disk options and repair and connect it back giving your computer everything before if you upgrade back before. i tryed this but none of my drivers went over and i tryed to install them but it kept saying i need this and this till i could not find anymore downloads can anyone help me

This question can not really be answered because we have no mention of the hardware you need drivers for.

In any case my suggestion is go to the vendor's websites for the hardware you need drivers for and see about downloading the drivers there.

And this does not mean your O.S is defective geez people.

A big part of the problem here is that you're really confused. Vista is a completely new operating system, not a theme for XP. Vista and XP use different drivers, so they don't transfer. And dual-booting doesn't split your drive for you.

If the issue is that you purchased a computer that came with Vista, you'll need to download XP drivers for all of your hardware and save those to CD. Then you'll have to format your drive and install XP. The problem you'll face is that if the hardware is new, there may not be XP drivers available for it. In that case you may be stuck with Vista. This is especially true of laptops, if that's what you've got.
