Belkin F5D5000 v2000 Desktop PCI Card PROBLEM?

Hi i have recently brought a Belkin F5D5000 v2000 Desktop PCI Card because my motherboard enthernet connector is malfunctioning ive installed the driver manualy and it doesnt work it comes up with error 10 this device cannot start. it does work i took the computer to a local pc repair shop and they got it to work for a while then it stoped. does anyone have this problem or knows a solution. thanks

To me it sounds like you have a driver conflict.



Have you disabled the local area connection, if that is still enabled that can cause a conflict?

Did they turn the onboard malfunctioning one on the motherboard off from the BIOS?



If they didn't then its still active and that may cause a problem.



Once that's turned off there, they need to disable it in the hardware and network settings of your OS. Then it will be completely turned off.
go to device manager and see if there is anything yellow! if it is - you need to uninstall the device, probably the onboard ethernet and then re-install it. you may need drivers from the manufacturer website or driverguide.com and if you can't go online, you will need another way to get the drivers to your problematic pc. you may need another computer and a flash drive to copy the files to...
