Hey guys recently my computer crashed and it would just show the blacks creen with the blinking cursor. Well i just got Microsoft Windoes XP Professional Service Pack 2 cd, and i booted my computer from it. It wanted to repair my old setup, but i didn't want to do that. So i deleted all my old partitions, and now its formatting a new partition on my c drive. Am i doing this correctly?

Yes. Next time it happens try to repair the master boot record by inserting the disk and after F8 you would hit the r key and wen you get a command prompt type " fixmbr ".
There is a good chance this will fix your problem and at this point you have nothing to lose.

Sounds right so far, as long as you're formatting in NTFS instead of FAT32, and didn't choose the quick format option.
Yep you're on the right track. It'll reformat your drive and then reinstall a new copy of Windows and your computer ought to be good as new. Everything you had on your old computer is gone though.
