I bought the computer several months ago, and I have a popup blocker that keeps most programs from getting past. This particular popup however always gets through, even when I target it specifically with my blocker. It is just a small window that says "messenger services" in it, and it says my computer has issues and it tries to direct me to a website to download a "repair" for a fee of course. It tries to send me to registrycleanerxp.com and a couple of other places. These things pop up at least every 15 minutes when I'm online. Any ideas where they're embedded? Thanks

Right click my computer and select manage. Expand services and applications, then select services.
Find the messenger service, right click and select properties. Then set the startup type as disabled.
That'll stop those pesky pop-ups!!

Messenger needs to be disabled... most vendors know now to ship windows with this service disabled.
