I had a registry problem and have now repaired it, however, now my computer needs to authenticate the windows program but can't connect to the internet. How do I fix this? I seem to only be able to access via dos.

Try booting it in "SAFE mode with networking" by pressing F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the registry is really hosed, it may not know where to find the network device and settings.
