Very fine lines running up and down on my laptop screen?

Ok so I have a bad habit. When picking up my laptop when open I usally pick it up one hand on the bottom and one hand on the top/middle of the screen. Well last night it fell off my coffee table, and after picking it up that way I now have 4 very fine lines of blue and pink running all the way down the screen from top to bottom. Is there anyway to fix this. If I take it in to a computer store would they be able to repair it? I am really hoping this can be fixed and I won't have to replace anything. Please help if you can. It will almost certainly need a new screen. The cost of the labour involved to determine whether it can fixed and then actually repairing it will probably be as much, if not more, than the price of a replacement.
