My little brother was trying to load The Sims 2 University when the computer suddenly shut off and then, when he let it restart while windows was loading, it shut off again. It repeated this about three times before i shut it off myself. Now when we try to turn it on there is a very high pitched internal noise and nothing appears on the display screen. Is something wrong with the hard drive? Is the noise coming from the hard drive? How can i repair this?
One of my computers is making a loud whistling noise. Nothing appears on the screen either. Whats wrong?house call
Are you sure it shut off? It sounds like you have a CRT monitor and the display settings are set too high for the monitor. So all the monitor does is make the noise. Try starting in safe mode and turning the display settings down (800x600 or 1024x768).

it's either the RAM or the display adapter, check them by cleaning them from dust for example, or just make sure that they are put in their places well, and try the computer again, goodluck and i hope it can work again,,,
Check your RAM %26 graphic card. Take them out %26 put it back again. Make sure they aren't fried. Also make sure your computer supported Sims 2 University.
If you get a blue screen or permission to reboot Windows in Safe Mode, un-install Sim 2.
