I'm having a slow Internet connection problems??

I have cable internet service, but my computer is running like if I have dial-up and it takes forever for a page to load. I can't even sometimes get my Yahoo IM to work or Ares. I have the Windows Vista sys %26 I have click on diagnose %26 repair numerous times and 30% of the time it will fix the problem. I need suggestions or solutions to fix my slow speed asap!

and if you have dsl well if a lot of people are using the dsl in your immediate area then think of dsl as a water hose, the more times I tap it, the less volume all users get, its the same principle with dsl the more users the slower the speed
