HELP WITH INTERNET please (LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY)?

i have 2 computers side by side. the internet was working on both when i used the same broadband wire on both (just took turns usin the internet on both just cause) but one day, one of my computers stopped working with the interent. MEANING the internet didnt want to work with it anymore. i had my computer cleaned out a few days ago, but the internet still does'nt work on it. it says LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY. i tried disabling it then enabling it, but it didnt work. i also tried the REPAIR button but it didnt work also. it says that i need to talk with the people who give me internet (which is roadrunner). would a router fix the problem? or would i still need to call the roadrunner people? your answers will be very helpful

dude u need a router.
If one is working and the other isn't

on the working PC go to a command prompt

(start-%26gt;run then type in cmd press enter) in the black window type ipconfig press enter

make a note of the information it displays

ipaddress

mask

DNS

and gateway

Connect up the other PC and do the same and compare them
If you clean up the PC. You either have a bad NIC or bad cable. Also you can try to open Comand Prompt from the accessories' menu and type. "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" and "netsh w r" . Sometimes this 2 commands resolve the problem.
If using DHCP, try renewing your address.

Start%26gt;%26gt;Run%26gt;%26gt;CMD

From command line, type the commands,

c:\%26gt;ipconfig /release

Once that completes issue

c:\%26gt;ipconfig /renew

If this fails, restart your router/dsl bridge/cable modem, whatever networking gear you have,
I think you have to setup the IP Addresses of your Network. Most of the time it is Dynamic. But sometime they have particular gateway ip, client ip, subnet mask. So you have set those ip addresses in the Network Connection Properties. Consult with your ISP about it.
A router will fix this. It also allows you yo use both machines at once.
