Windows XP Installation Not Finding Hard Drives?

My computer obtained a virus, and I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP. I input the Windows XP disks into my system, and I boot from the CD on start up. It continues to load everything from the disk, and then gives me the option of setting up windows xp, repairing windows xp, or quitting setup. When I click the button to set up windows xp, it tells me that the set up did not find any hard disk drives nstalled on the computer.

Now, when I load in safemode, I can see my hard drive, and I can still access the files on it. Any suggestions?

Do you have a SATA drive in your computer? Some older motherboards need drivers for SATA drives before Windows will see them to install onto. It's not a problem with the older hard drives...
