Weird internet connection?

Im using Linksys as my internet connection. I have a small icon bottom right of a computer. Usually, it says Signal Strength: Very Low. I press repair until it goes to Excellent or I restart my internet. Youtube videos are VERY VERY slow to load even for a 20 second video which takes like 10 minutes. How do I fix this? This happens commonly everyday

First you need to establish what kind of problem you are having. You can determine whether a poor wireless connection is at fault by disabling the wireless feature on your computer and temporarily connecting an ethernet cable from your router directly to your pc. If YouTube videos begin downloading at a much faster rate with the ethernet cable, you have a wireless connection problem which can probably be solved by purchasing a larger or amplified antenna for your wireless router. You may also consider moving closer to your router when you are working.

If service does not improve with the ethernet cable, chances are you have a problem with the configuration of your router (assuming your pc is fairly modern and in good working order). To double check this, connect your pc directly to your broadband modem and test how well the connection works. If it is improved without the router, you have a router configuration problem. Follow the setup steps for configuring your router again. If you no longer have the manual, google the router model to find an online version. If all else fails, call tech support for your internet provider, your router and your pc.
