Problems with Removable Storage?

I played with Removable Storage on Computer Management. Although I do have access to the system as administrator, I somehow seem to have blocked Removable Storage service access to all users including me.

I am able to use Removable storage but I do get error messages such as "Backup Utility cannot connect to Removable Storage service. This service is required for use of tape drives and other backup devices. Please exit and start the Removable Storage srevice using System services function of the Management Console". I have done that and tried System Restore too but all attempts are in vain.

I tried using Safe Mode to log in as Administrator and remove this problem but since that service can't be started in Safe Mode, even that option is gone.

My final option is to use System Recovery which puts the system back to factory settings.If there is an alternative via which I can repair this problem, please let me know.

Since you've done it, have you tried going backwards and undoing it?

If you can't, as the system may have been set to prevent you from doing so, all you can do is to backup your personal data and go for the System Recovery protocol, it shouldnt be too bad, starting fresh again is always nice.
