I have a problem with a mechanic working on my car.?

took my car to a transmission shop where I was told that I would get a free diagnostic. Alan called me back to let me know that some codes came up on the computer and that my car's transmission would have to be pulled apart to find out what's wrong with it. I was told that it's normally $650.00 to do this and that because I am a friend(I don't know this man from a hole in the wall) that it would cost me $450. I agreed to pay the $450 to find out what the code was. I get a call at the end of the day at work Alan tells me that it's going to cost me around $3400 to replace my transmission and that because I am a "friend" he would do it for $2600 plus tax. I told him that I didn't want to spend $2600 to repair certain parts in the transmission when I was told that the only thing that was wrong was the solenoids by a ford dealership. I told him that I wanted him to put the car back together and that I will give him the $450 that I owe him and drive off. He said "NO NO NO, this car is in a million pieces and that some pieces got broken when the transmission was pulled apart and that he wasn't going to put the transmission back together because the car would be undriveable. He said that he would put the transmission in the trunk of the car and that I would have to have it towed back to my yard. He said that he is not going to spend the time putting a broken transmission back together.

First of all, the car drove in his lot with no problems and he's telling me that I can't drive the car because the transmission got damaged when he took it apart. He never told me that some parts of the transmission would get damaged, otherwise I would not have taken a chance in knowing that I could be potentially walking and not driving my car.
