Yesterday, when my laptop froze, i had to remove the battery and cable to restart it, and when i turned it back on again, it gave me an error screen "Unmountable_Boot_Volume" and i talked to a dell representative who told told me how to run some tests and when they were done he concluded that i needed a new harddrive and has already sent a new one to me, however, i want to know if there is any possible way of repairing this either through the computer or taking it apart or something? Does anyone know how to do this step by step??
I'm so desprate here, i have tons of files saved on there that were not backed up, any information would be greatly appreciated =]
Fix my hard drive?adware remover
i experienced a similar problem with a laptop hd and eventually got it to boot, then copied all the files to a usb flash drive.
i took out the hard disk and tapped it against the desk, put it back in and it booted.
Fix my hard drive?antivirus protection
that guy was a hump ... enter bios settup and load defaults ...
you b0rked it. hard shut downs can corrupt the HDD.
or maybe not. it might have been slowly degrading and you just haven't noticed. Bad sectors in the HDD eventually get so bad that the drive becomes unusable.
hang on
im just accessing my psychic computing healing abilities now ................

there! its fixed!
When you remove the drive buy a laptop drive USB enclosure. Use it to recover your files. If this does not work your only option is to send it to a specialist, they charge $1000.00 and up for this. Learn a lesson from this, keep regular backups.
