Can't connect wireless, but Ethernet connection works just fine... HELP!?

I've had this problem for a while now so I've just opted to use the ethernet cable instead. Now that we have a new computer, I want this one (laptop) to be wireless. The thing is, when it does connect, the green light on the 2wire thingy is green. However, when I view the wireless connections and everything it says 'Not Connected'. When I try to repair the connection, it says that it couldn't be completed because it couldn't connect to the wireless network.

I know little to nothing when it comes to this. Will someone be willing to work with me? I'm low on funds so I can't pay anyone to come out and fix the problem.
