i ripped apart the steering column on my '89 buick lesabre and have reched a road block... i'm not that computer savy and i cant be on one for very long. i need info on the column repair procedures and exploded diagrams, i can't seem to find anything online, they're all trying to sell repair manuals, and i've already got plenty those.
Any mechanics out there?computer
unfortuneately, those books at the zone ain't good at colum rebuilding and require the shop manuals that a professional would use (such as the subscription based all-data) or a very understanding guy at the GM dealer willing to get you out of a bind (small town dealers are more friendly to this than the big city dealer)
One help would be to trek on down to the Buick dealer and get a exploded parts view of the colum and see if that would help... If not you will have to look for a GM or former GM tech who does sideline work at his house for help (unless you bring it to the dealer who would chage you a lot more.. that and more and more dealers from GM I am finding won't work on anything older than 10 years)

I don't know what kind of problem you had with the steering column before you worked on it but I have found in the past that it is almost just as easy and sometimes cheaper to just replace the steering column, you can usually get them from the junk yard for around 100 to 150 and they are not that hard to replace, if it is an 89 then you probably need a new rack to and that would be a good time to do it.;
That's one of those things you REALLY want an expert to do. I destroyed a steering column once because it looked so easy. It wasn't. Spend the $80. It'll be worth it, trust me!
The road block is probably the pins that hold the knuckle on the tilt together. You should see some threaded holes on each side. You have to thread a screw in those and use a slide hammer to pull 'em out.
Just a guess on your problem! You won't find that in any aftermarket manual I've ever seen. Factory shop manuals will have it, couple of hundred for those though!
sorry guy but you really do need a manual for the wiring diagram why not go to a local and buy him a 6 pack maybe he'll let you copy what you need out of his
